Be the hero of your own life story "The Hero Within"

Sorry. I didn't mean to post the last one. Any way.....The theme of this year for young women's, was to "Be the hero of your own life story". That was the theme for our ward. The stake theme was "The Hero Within". Our hero was Hannah Belnap. The entire time before our presentation for her, she didn't know. So when we announced that she was our hero, her face was full of surprise. It was really funny! But when we started saying all the great quality's she has and everything we see in her, the surprise left her face, and there were tears in her eyes. She is amazing to us.

We went canoeing the first day and we also went canoeing the third day. Both times we got totally soaked! The first time was when we played all the games and stuff. For one of the games, one girl in the canoe had to be blind folded and the other had to be instructing what the girl blind folded should do. I was the one blind folded in that game. And my best friend Hanna, was instructing me. It was hard, but tons of fun!! We also played a different game that day. The YCL's got in a canoe and they had a big garbage bag full of rubber ducks, balls, and all kinds of floating things and they road around the lake/big pond, and spread them out every where! All the Young Women in the conoes had to try and pick up as many floating things as possible. I think the funnest part of that was that we would all splash each other with our hands (we weren't aloud to splash each other with our paddles. And we also weren't aloud to swim in the lake) to get the big balls. That was how we got soaking wet when ever we went out to canoe.

The second time we went out canoeing, a few of the young women in our ward had those crayon thingies that squirt out water. The crayons shot the water really far, so everyone accept for one of our leaders (Can you guess who?) and one of the girls from our ward. Hannah B. Felisia H. and......I can't remember who else was in the canoe with the crayons. But our YW president got right up next to Hannah's canoe, grabbed that crayon and started pushing on Hannah's face at the same time. They ended up braking the crayon. That same day, a couple of our ward's Mimaid's, flipped their canoe over. On accident of course. The lifeguard got really stressed out and started yelling at them to get out of the lake. We tried to help them out....long story short, it didn't work. We made up a song after that. If you have heard the "Ants go Marching" song, replace the lyrics with this! It's so much fun!

WET PANTS ARE RISING UP MY BUM! HURRAH! HURRAH! THE WATER'S SQUISHING BETWEEN MY TOES! HURRAH! HURRAH! MY BRA IS SOAKED! MY HAIR'S A JOKE! (Camila, and Sarah) WE FELL IN THE LAKE!! (6th ward young women) FOR GOODNESS SAKE! AND WE ALL GO MARCHING BACK, TO CAMP, TO GET OUT, OF THESE CLOTHS!!

OH!!! I forgot to tell you about the new Young Women in our ward! (Linda. You probably saw her at church. She JUST got baptized the day we got back from camp!) She came with us on the canoe ride the second time. She was really freaked out at first, asking if we wouldn't go near anyone. But then, 15 minutes later she's telling us to "Go get those people! I want to get them back!" I luv Linda! She's wonderful! I got to see her grow more and more comfortable and familiar with our young women. All the Young Women in our ward love being her friend. She is a really good friend, and she is so excited to be baptized into the church. After her baptizm she even stepped forward, raised up her hands and excaimed "YEAH!!!" She was smiling when she went into the font, and she was smiling when she came out. All of us could tell she was really excited.

There's to much to tell about Girls Camp. So I'm afaid this will have to be continued.........

Be the hero of your own life story
